Hi,
My name is Charles Thomas. I started using clay at 11 years old.
I became fully dedicated to ceramic craft in High School and Community College in Tacoma, Washington. My instructors Dan Cohen, Reid Ozaki and Rick Mahaffee were all graduate students of University of Puget Sound ceramics instructor Carlton Ball.
I continued to explore Ceramic arts at the University of Washington, under the watchful eyes of Akio Takamori, Jamie Walker and Doug Jeck.
I'm dedicated to hand craft and function in an attempt to rebel against encroaching technology. Unfortunately, natural tendencies toward order, control and meticulous detail leave my work looking like it was made by tiny robots.
No molds, printers, computers or AI are used in the creation of my work.
